The result became Run It, a creative operating system designed to help creators spend less time organizing their work and more time making it.

Run It started with Erin.

As a creator, she was constantly saving ideas, planning shoots, organizing trips, and trying to turn inspiration into finished content. The problem wasn't creativity. It was execution. Ideas were scattered across screenshots, notes, saved posts, videos, and conversations, making it surprisingly difficult to decide what to film next.

She brought the problem to me, and we started building together.

Erin brought the perspective of someone creating content every week. I brought product design and systems thinking. Every feature was shaped through real-world use, where I'd build something, she'd immediately use it in her workflow, and we'd refine it together.

The result became Run It, a creative operating system designed to help creators spend less time organizing their work and more time making it.

Turning Inspiration Into Action

Most creator tools focus on planning.

Run It focuses on momentum.

The core idea behind the product is that inspiration shouldn't disappear once it's been captured. A saved Reel, a voice memo, a conversation, or a quick video should become the beginning of a production plan instead of another forgotten note.

I designed the product around helping creators bridge the gap between having an idea and actually pressing record.

Building A Creative Workflow

Run It combines idea capture, production planning, collaboration, locations, shoot preparation, and execution into a single workflow.

One of the ideas I'm most proud of is the concept of a runbook. Instead of collecting disconnected ideas, creators build living production guides that capture everything needed to bring a piece of content to life.

Whether someone is filming alone or coordinating a week-long creator retreat, the goal is the same: reduce creative overhead so more energy can be spent making great work.

Building Alongside A Creator

Run It wasn't designed around assumptions.

It evolved through constant iteration alongside Erin's actual creator business.

Every trip, brand partnership, recipe, travel guide, and production schedule became an opportunity to test new ideas. We'd discover where the workflow broke down, simplify the experience, and rebuild it.

That process shaped everything from Quick Add and Ready Now to Shoot Mode, location planning, and collaborative production workflows.

The product grew alongside the work it was designed to support.

A Different Philosophy

I don't think creators need another project management tool.

They need software that understands how creative work actually happens.

Ideas arrive unexpectedly.

Plans change.

Locations matter.

Weather changes.

Friends become collaborators.

One piece of content often leads to five more.

Run It embraces that reality instead of forcing creators into rigid production pipelines.

Why I'm Proud Of It

Run It is one of the most personal products I've worked on because it grew out of someone I know and create with every day.

Watching Erin build a creator business gave me a front-row seat to the invisible work behind great content. Building the product together taught me that the biggest obstacle usually isn't coming up with ideas. It's carrying those ideas all the way to publication.

I'm proud that Run It isn't trying to make creators more organized for the sake of organization. It's trying to help them spend more time creating, experimenting, and sharing their work with the world.
